Upcoming Performances

Tour with Kevin Maynor, bass
Eric Olsen will be on tour with operatic bass Kevin
Maynor, with whom Eric has worked for 16 years.  They
have recorded 5 CD’s together, and have toured France,
Germany, New Zealand, and India.  The current tour will
be of nine states, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, South Dakota,
Ohio, Missouri, Kansas, Montana, and Nebraska.  On
Monday, March 23rd, at 8 PM, Kevin and Eric will play
the main stage at Carnegie Hall.  The program includes
renowned African American singers from the classical
music world who come together to pay tribute to icons
who opened the doors for succeeding generations. Artists
to be honored include Marian Anderson and Paul
Robeson, among others. The program is entitled Honor
the Voice, and also features opera legend Jessye Norman.

This concert represents a reunion of the principal
members of Urban Survival, a unique and cutting-edge
collaborative jazz group.  Urban Survival has been very
active on the New York City music scene.  The band has
performed to capacity crowds at world-famous venues
such as the Knitting Factory and Birdland.  The group
also tours nationally, performing in concert venues,
clubs, and at festivals in a dozen states to rave reviews.  

The group’s music is both intense and intensely
introspective.  It aims at an inspirational and
transformative musical experience. The group has two
CD’s, “Urban Survival”, and “Urban Survival Storry Hill”
which will be available for purchase at the concert.
